Bogie Overhaul

Pullman Rail offers the overhaul and refurbishment of all types of locomotive, passenger rolling stock and freight wagon bogies.

We deliver an all-inclusive service with overhaul of wheelsets, suspension and brake equipment, carried out in-house. We are able to undertake a wide range of weld repairs to damaged bogie frames, full shot blast, NDT and painting of bogies.

We also provide a pickup and delivery service to depot with unrivalled turnaround times – ensuring fleet availability is maximised. 

Wheelset Overhaul

Pullman Rail offer the overhaul, refurbishment and new supply of all types of locomotive, passenger rolling stock and freight wagon wheelsets.

These services include dynamic balancing, MPI and ultrasonic testing of wheelsets. Work carried out also out includes the reprofiling of wheelsets, renewal of axles and bearings, overhaul of suspension tubes and axle boxes and the best in class overhaul of final drive gearboxes. We have the technical capability to overhaul all types and wheelsets and this includes, electric multiple units, diesel multiple units, passenger and wagon wheelsets. We have a long standing robust supply chain in place to underpin our overhaul operation. In-house capabilities include: – Wheel presses, wheel shrink fitting, state of the art wheel bore and re-profiling lathe, non-destructive testing and bearing overhaul.

Refurbishment

Pullman Rail offer overhaul, refurbishment or restoration of passenger and freight vehicles. Our experienced team will deliver on time and to budget.

We have an extensive experience in vehicle repair and maintenance and offer the following services to our customers:

  • Freight vehicles – repair, overhaul, accident damage and spare parts
  • Passenger vehicles – overhaul, refurbishment, conversion, accident damage and restoration
  • Passenger vehicles – coded overhauls including C2, C3, C4 and C6 work

Components

Our facilities are well equipped to handle component overhaul from axle boxes to air suspension units and pressure vessels.

One of our main areas of expertise is in the supply, replacement, overhaul and service exchange for air reservoirs for both bogie and body mounted applications. We are fully qualified to manufacture new air reservoirs to the latest BSEN 13445, EN286, PD5500, URN95/779 as well as BS5169 specifications.

We also supply and fit gangways for a variety of vehicles on a service exchange basis where fully overhauled gangways are provided for customers while the old unit is undergoing evaluation and repair.

Alongside the supply of standard overhauled components, we also have a large fabrication department where most components, from battery boxes to relay panels, can either be manufactured from original drawings or patterns.
